Amateur astronomer since childhood in the mid-50s. My grandfather used to get me up late at night to show me the constellations, planets and usually the moon, it is because of those nights that I have this addiction to the sky, and nature in general. I was a variously a member, officer, board member and convention chairman of the Hidden Hollow conventions of the Richland Astronomical Society from the mid-80's until 2008 in Ohio. I retired in 2010 and now do a lot of my astronomy activities online but try to get this creaky old body out under the sky as often as it will cooperate.
