New Year's Moon

LPOD-Jan1-11.jpg

image by Maurice Collins, New Zealand

The sky was cloudy when the New Year came to New Zealand, but Maurice hardly needed to see it to capture the Moon in the sky. Instead of a telescope he used the virtual, always cloud-free LRO altimetry data file and LTVT to create an accurate view of the Moon that must have been somewhere beyond the clouds. Who would have thought 7 years ago on Chuck Wood
