Smudge of an Eclipse

LPOD-Apr26-13.jpg

image by Maximilian Teodorescu, Dumitrana, Romania

Since we've just had in Europe a small partial lunar eclipse, here is the first result. The image presents the "maximum" of the eclipse, in both "normal" coloring (that is without saturating the colors) and also in an exaggerated view of the colors. Interesting to note the general yellowish color accentuated by the shadow (or from the penumbra itself), yet a bluish-red coloring of the umbra.

Technical Details
April 25, 2013, 20:08 U.T. 8" Newtonian @F/5, Canon 550D. Baader MPCC coma corector. The image is a stack of 20 exposures at ISO 100 and 20 exposures at ISO 400, all 1/250s.
