This image is a second earthrise photo recovered from the Lunar Orbiter 1 image tapes by the gang at McMoon's (a disused McDonald's restaurant) at Nasa Ames. Mcmoon Special

LPOD-Apr11-14.jpg
image by Lunar Orbiter Image Recovery Project.

This image is a second earthrise photo recovered from the Lunar Orbiter 1 image tapes by the gang at McMoon's (a disused McDonald's restaurant) at Nasa Ames. They have digitized all the tapes and now are planning to process them. A great resource has been saved from the ravages of technology advances and time. They are so much clearer than the originals online, and the LOPAM book of plates. I for one look forward to browsing the enhanced images in the future!
