Oblique Impact?

The eclipse of Oct 27, 2004 was both widely observed and widely clouded out. Many eclipse images were submitted to LPOD showing that it was quite a red eclipse rather than a dark one, but this image captures the entire multi-hour experience, showing both the Moon's movement across the sky and changing color from the bright whiteness of pre- and post-eclipse, and the gradual reddening to and from mid-totality. Forrest's image reminds me of a necklace with brilliant diamonds at the ends and golden coral in the middle.
