Where's the Moon?

LPOD-Sep4-08.jpg
image by Mila Zinkova, Yosemite, California

An LPOD without a Moon seems to defy logic, so this lovely image seems to beg the question, Why is this an LPOD? There is something in the image that wouldn't exist without the Moon (and I don't mean something esoteric like the Moon protecting Earth from impacts). Use the Discussion area to give your explanation as to why this image belongs on LPOD.
